Roadtrip 2015 Fall: Vancouver - Astoria - Bandon - Anderson - Paso Robles - Palm Desert - Morongo Valley - Sedona - Henderson - Lone Pine - Sacramento - Ashland - Newport - Astoria - Vancouver

Day 45 - Chapel of the Holy Cross - Chapel - Little Horse - Chicken Point

AKA Chapel in the Rocks. It truly is an architectural feat.

OK - we're not sure what to make of this one - it is white but a truck not an SUV. It sports a black cross and emergency lighting over cab and is parked right outside the Chapel. It possibly is a VCRV - vortex crisis response vehicle..

This mansion rings a tad over the top - even for Sedona. We think it's one of Trump's - he likes the ornate design aesthetic.

Chapel entrance - it is currently under restoration.

Still a place to light a candle.

The Mighty Helpers try to keep up their ambitious schedule.

More candles ring the entrance to the Chapel.

The World-Famous Moonrise Trail. Somehow, on this trail only, the moon is always rising.

Yes, of course it's a bird.

Of course, The Mystery Poo of the Day.

More Moonrise Trail.

Even dogs are mesmerized by all the Moonrises, and take cover in the prickly pears.

Wendy is transfixed by all the Moonrises. It really doesn't make sense.

Just following the water in the canyon.

The World-Famous Horseshoe Falls of Sedona. Several cups of water blast over these cliffs every day, to the thrill of the onlookers below. The locals are raising money for a boat ramp and a brand-new steamship to get thrill-seeking tourists ever closer to the thundering torrents.

This is the fast escape route from Pink Jeep Land up there on Chicken Point.

Water always finds a way.

Russ has become so enchanted by the moonrises that he's gone entirely off trail. We call him back but it's like he doesn't even hear us. Eventually we send Sherpa Brown Sock to retrieve him.

The Sherpa proudly displays her brand new very own water bottle. We tried to get her to carry it herself but she didn't see the logic in that - she is the lead Sherpa after all - we are but the minions.

At last, the Pink Jeeps leave. There is a couple left up there on the point enjoying the solitude.

Emma Sherpa Brown Sock leads the way back down the treacherous Hillary Rockfall.
